Model: Seagull-V20
Mission Scenarios: Aircraft Carrier-Based Reconnaissance, Maritime Search and Rescue, Anti-Ship Missile Midcourse Guidance
Core Technologies:
Vertical Takeoff and Landing Composite Power System
- Power Configuration: It adopts a hybrid drive of "turbojet engine + electric duct". When taking off and landing vertically, 8 sets of vector nozzles are activated (with a thrust of 500kgf per set). When flying horizontally, it switches to the turbojet mode (with a cruising speed of 800km/h), taking into account both short takeoff and landing and high-speed flight. It can land stably in sea conditions of sea state 6.
- Deck Adaptation: The folding wings (with a width of less than 3m after folding) cooperate with the electromagnetic catapult hook, increasing the aircraft carrier deck operation efficiency by 40%. A single aircraft carrier can carry 30 Seagull-V20s, forming a dense reconnaissance and strike network.
Integrated Sea-Sky Reconnaissance System
- Multi-Spectrum Payload: It is equipped with the SeaVue-800E maritime surveillance radar (with a detection range of 200km), an infrared thermal imager (with a resolution of 640×512), and a laser depth sounder (with a water depth detection accuracy of ±0.5m). It can track 100 ships simultaneously and identify small boats and submarine periscopes.
- Data Link Coordination: Through satellite communication, it shares target coordinates with the aircraft carrier battle group in real time, providing terminal guidance correction for the "YJ-21" anti-ship missile, and improving the hitting accuracy from CEP = 15m to CEP = 5m.
Design for Harsh Environments
- Salt Spray Protection: The fuselage surface is sprayed with a polytetrafluoroethylene coating (with a thickness of 50μm), and the key circuits adopt a potting process. It can continuously operate for 500 hours in a 30% salt spray environment, far exceeding the MIL-STD-810H standard.
- Surge Protection: The landing gear is equipped with a hydraulic buffer device, which can withstand forced landing when the deck is tilted at 15°. With the automatic anti-interference landing system, the landing success rate reaches 99.7%.
Practical Combat Value:
- Fleet Barrier: During the Rim of the Pacific Exercise in 2025, the Seagull-V20 cluster detected and tracked an enemy nuclear submarine, and guided anti-submarine helicopters to conduct simulated attacks, extending the early warning time of the aircraft carrier battle group to 200 minutes.
- Oceanic Search and Rescue: In the search for the wreckage of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, the Seagull-V20 with a modified sonar module increased the efficiency of locating deep-sea wreckage by 3 times compared with traditional search and rescue ships, achieving continuous sea area scanning for 7×24 hours.
Technical Parameters:
- Takeoff and Landing Mode: Vertical Takeoff and Landing/Short Takeoff and Runway Landing (adjusted according to the payload)
- Endurance: 12 hours (4 hours in pure electric mode, 12 hours in hybrid mode)
- Payload: 1.2 tons (reconnaissance module)/0.8 tons (weapon module)
- Wind Resistance Level: Level 10 (takeoff and landing)/Level 12 (cruising)
